70th Anniversary of U.N. Peacekeeping, and How Virtual Reality Can Help

Can you think of a time technology fostered a unique relationship between you and the world around you? Maybe it was the star-gazing app, which made it easy to explore the skies. Or maybe just having a HD weather map in the palm of your hand helps when planning activities later in the day.

In May of 2018, the U.N.’s 70th Anniversary of U.N. peacekeeping efforts made a virtual reality film, Under the Blue Helmet, which offers a first-hand look at the work and daily lives of our uniformed and civilian peacekeepers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as they go on patrol, reintegrate former fighters into society and protect the local population. The film shows how peacekeepers from all over the world are making a vital difference in the lives of people and communities.”

Emerging technologies create new relationships to the world around us.  Virtual reality creates a sense of presence, un-deliverable by any other technology today. That is why we have given a shout out. If you have a virtual reality headset check out the film below.
